John Lewis, an influential non-violence activist, a leader of the U.S. Members after 1986, in the shades of the Democratic Party, died on Friday at the age of 80.
Following Emmanuel Macron ‘s visit to Washington in 2018, John Lewis felt like the President of France was fighting for the same nation as Martin Luther King desired.

This symbol of the African-American movement has waged a relentless and unwavering fight against racial inequality and oppression; having been assaulted by the police and repeatedly arrested in protest against the genocide or immigration legislation.
Considered one of the country’s most revered voices for justice and equity, he regularly criticized President Donald Trump, boycotting his nomination, and citing Russian intervention in the 2016 elections as a threat to his authority.
Given his pancreatic cancer, he returned to Washington in June in the wake of the chaos following George Floyd ‘s murder by the Minneapolis police to help rally Black Lives Matter against racial injustice.

Trump said he was “saddened” by the death of this “civil rights hero” in a terse message illustrating the low esteem in which he was held by those who boycotted his nomination in January 2017. The president also ordered flags to be flown at half-mast on all public buildings, including the White House.
